The biannual Brewers Association World Beer Cup 2006, USA (considered the Olympics of Beer) is the world’s largest and most diverse international beer competition with 2,221 beers from 540 breweries across 56 countries. It is a global stage for breweries to showcase the quality, craftsmanship, flavour and diversity of beers. It also demonstrates the excitement and passion for beer among brewers and beer drinkers. It is considered the Olympics of the beer industry. The presentation of the winners was held on 14th April 2006.
Redoak won two Gold and a Bronze medal against strong international competition. This continues the recognition that Redoak is earning globally for its world-class beers.Redoak’s results were:
Gold - Redoak Honey Ale(Specialty Honey Lager or Ale category)
Gold - Redoak Rauch(Smoke-Flavoured Beer category)
Bronze - Redoak Baltic Porter (Baltic Porter category)
Australia won 10 medals in total (3 Gold, 2 Silver and 5 Bronze) of which Redoak won 2 Gold and 1 Bronze medal. Australia has only won 6 Gold medals in the history of the competition and this includes Redoak's 2 Gold from this year.
